Native American Local History Series

Brian Jones became Connecticut’s most recent State Archaeologist this July. He has worked as an archaeologist since 1992 for AHS/PAST Inc., the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center, and Archaeological Services at UMass Amherst.  He received his Ph.D. in Anthropology at UConn in 1998.

Paul Grant-Costa has worked as Senior Researcher at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center and as a lead historical  researcher with tribal councils, tribal historians, lawyers, and anthropologists across New England.  He holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Linguistics from the University of Connecticut, a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law, and a Ph.D. in American Studies from Yale University.
